Day 1 : arrival and explore marrakech

Upon your arrival in Marrakech, our 7 days Morocco trip from Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara desert will begin with a full day of exploring the imperial city of Marrakech. This city is renowned for its historical monuments and has been designated a world heritage site. We will start by visiting the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, Saadian Tombs, and the Bahia Palace, all of which offer glimpses into the city’s fascinating history and culture.

For lunch, we will head to a local restaurant located in the bustling Jemaa El Fna square, where you can experience the vibrant atmosphere of the city while enjoying a delicious meal. Day 2 : marrakech - high atlas mountains - ouarzazate ait ben haddou -dades valley

Our journey begins as we hit the road and pass through the breathtaking Atlas Mountains, specifically the Tizi N’Tichka pass. Along the way, we will encounter charming Berber villages and have the chance to capture their beauty in pictures and stories. If you wish, you can even take a stroll and immerse yourself in the local Berber culture.

Our first stop is the Telouet Kasbah, followed by a visit to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was constructed by El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains. Interestingly, some members of the El Glaoui family still live in this impressive structure. Later on, we’ll explore another beautiful Kasbah called Taourirt.

Once we’ve worked up an appetite, we’ll break for lunch.

Our journey continues as we make our way to Skoura, where we can admire many different Kasbahs, including the 18th-century Ameridhil Kasbah. Day 3 : dades valley - todra gorges - merzouga erg chebbi

Our destination being the awe-inspiring Sahara desert in Merzouga. After indulging in a delicious breakfast at the Dades riad, we will journey towards the magnificent Todra Gorge. Here, we will take a leisurely walk around the canyon walls that tower up to 200m high, and soak in the breathtaking views.

Our journey will take us through Tinjdad and Touroug, before arriving at Rissani city, a historic Sijilmassa town. We will savor a local meal for lunch, consisting of a large, typical pizza called “Medfona”. Afterward, we will explore the bustling open market Souk, famous for its fresh dates, local spices, and traditional clothing.

As our excitement builds up, we will finally head to our much-anticipated destination – the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Sahara desert. These stunning golden sands will leave you in awe. Upon arrival, we will check into a hotel and spend the night surrounded by the magical ambiance of the desert.

Day 4 : explore merzouga sahara desert - visit nomads

Today promises to be an adventure-packed day as we explore the vast dunes of the Sahara desert. Along the way, we will make several stops, with each one offering unique experiences and insights into the local way of life.

Our first stop will be at Khamlia village, inhabited by people originating from Mali. Here, we will have the opportunity to discover their history and lifestyle, enjoy the traditional Gnawa music, and savor a cup of authentic Moroccan tea.

Continuing on, we will visit nomadic families, who live a traditional life under tents. While sipping on delicious mint tea, we will learn more about their lifestyle and appreciate the simplicity of their way of living. We will also discover the abundant wildlife thriving in the wild oasis, located in the heart of the desert.

We will break for lunch and experience Berber hospitality in the charming town of Errachidia. Continuing on our journey, we will explore the cedar forests, known for their lively monkey population. Next, we’ll visit the Royal Palace Gate and the Jewish Quarter, which was the first Mellah built in Morocco during the 16th century. After that, we’ll head to the famous leather tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and Moulay Idriss.

After lunch, we’ll explore the handicraft souk and marvel at its wonderful, colorful Moroccan styles. In the afternoon, we’ll head to a vantage point that offers a stunning view of the entire medina. Finally, we’ll drive back to our hotel/riad for the night.

Day 7 : departure
