Embark on our unforgettable 4 days Fes to Marrakech desert tour, which starts with a pickup from your Hotel/Riad in Fes. Our first stop is the stunning “Moroccan Switzerland” of Ifrane, where we’ll pause to take in the beauty of this charming city. After that, we’ll head to the Cedar forest, where you can observe monkeys playfully jumping among the trees.
We’ll continue our journey by traversing the magnificent Middle Atlas Mountains, reaching the picturesque Ziz valley. This valley boasts some of southern Morocco’s most extensive palm groves and oasis communities, making it a sight to behold. Our next stop will be the lovely city of Erfoud, and then, we’ll finally arrive at the Merzouga desert. You will spend your first night at an authentic Riad, immersing yourself in the rich local culture.
After breakfast, we will embark on an exciting Merzouga discovery tour, exploring the most fascinating areas of the desert. Our first stop will be an area inhabited by Nomads, who lead a traditional lifestyle by herding animals like camels, goats, and sheep. Spending time with them will provide you with a better understanding of their culture and way of life.
Next, we will journey to the Mifiss plumb mine and then head to Khamlia, a charming town located 5 kilometers from Merzouga, where you’ll learn about the Gnaoua way of life and their unique customs.
In the afternoon, it’s time for a camel ride adventure that lasts about 1 hour and thirty minutes, taking you to the desert camp. During the ride, we’ll stop amidst the dunes to witness the magical sunset, snap photos, and even try sandboarding (optional). Afterward, we’ll continue on to the camp, where you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing glass of mint tea.
Enjoy a delicious supper, campfire, and music party before spending the night in a luxurious desert camp in Merzouga. Both breakfast and dinner are included in your stay, ensuring you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Make sure to wake up early today so you can witness the magnificent sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast and a refreshing shower at the desert camp, you will be transported back to Merzouga Village by either camel or 4×4. We will then embark on a scenic drive towards Rissani, where we will explore the charming town and its historic marketplace.
Our journey will take us through several Berber villages, including Mellab, Tinjdad, and Jourf, which is renowned for its ancient irrigation wells. From there, we will continue to the stunning Todra Valley and the awe-inspiring 300-meter-high canyons of the Todra Gorges, where water has carved its way through the rocks. We will take a walk inside the gorge to fully appreciate its natural beauty before heading towards Dades Valley, where we will spend the night.
Today’s itinerary will take us to Ouarzazate, a city that lies on the outskirts of the magnificent Atlas Mountains. During our journey, we’ll pass through the breathtaking Rose Valley and the Skoura Oasis, known for its lush palm groves and unique architecture. As we approach Ouarzazate, we’ll make a stop at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage site that has served as the backdrop for numerous blockbuster films, such as “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Gladiator,” “Kingdom of Heaven,” and “Prince of Persia.”
Kasbahs, which are fortified palaces built in the traditional Moroccan style, are a testament to the country’s rich culture and architectural heritage. After exploring the Kasbah, we’ll make our way through the stunning Tichka Pass, which winds its way through the Atlas Mountains and provides spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.
